Welcome Prospective Parents

Welcome to Montessori Fun!

Readiness:   We base admission decisions on many factors, including your child’s age.  The more they are here, the more they learn, and children thrive on consistency. To prepare for school you can practice: drinking from an open cup, putting on and off shoes and socks, watching and drying hands effectively, not putting non-food items in the mouth, sitting and listening to a story. Potty training is preferable but if you are still working on it we will accept your child.

Reading is the single most beneficial thing you can do with your child! It benefits their language development, vocabulary, concentration, focus, and love of books as a pleasure. Read books with them every day!! They learn with repetition, so repeat favorites at their request!  When you speak and enunciate the words,  they are learning vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar, the melody of the language, comprehension of the written word, correlating pictures with written words, and of course how fun it is to read and what a wonderful way to learn about anything they like. Go to the library and check out books of various genres including fiction and non-fiction. If your child is interested in something, for example, insects, check out books to learn more together! Library story times are great as well.

Please contact us regarding availability for your child, and to schedule your tour of our school. We will be happy to answer your questions and provide additional information about our educational programs.

Admissions Process

We know it’s not easy to select the right school for your child. We understand and appreciate the trust level necessary for us to care for your little ones. You are always welcome to drop in or visit. I am available by text during the day to check in on how your child is doing and I love to take photos of the children at work and play here and send them to you.

1. Schedule a guided tour of our school to discuss questions and the best options for your family’s needs.  Feel free to make another tour appointment for a second look, or you would like your spouse or extended family to meet us.

2. When we agree we are a great fit for each other, complete an application registration form with your $150 registration fee to reserve your child’s spot.  The first of your 10 annual payments is due June 3. If this first payment is not received you will forfeit your child’s spot in the school. The registration fee is non-refundable, however, we have a two-week trial period during which if you are not happy with the school you will be refunded everything except the initial registration fee and the hours your child was here.  We are confident that your child will love it here and learn a lot!

Have A Question?

We tried to think of everything, but if you have a question, please let us know! We aim to respond to all inquiries quickly. The more hours, the lower the hourly rate. Pricing depends on your child’s hours. Email us to request a complete listing of prices so you can anticipate what will work for your family.

Like most Montessori Schools, we set up tuition on an annual basis for the school year (mid-Aug to the beginning of June) that can be split into payments as you wish. You can arrange auto-pay with our bookkeeper, Ingrid Clark, at no extra charge. Most choose 10 equal payments due the first of the month. If you start after the first of the year our bookkeeper will prorate the tuition and help you set up a payment plan. You can pay the registration fee with Venmo if that is easier. If you join after the beginning of the school year, our bookkeeper will prorate your tuition and you can then set up monthly payments. We also have enrollment papers for you to fill out for your child’s file and the state of California for licensing. You can access all your paperwork online. We are closed Tuesdays and Thursdays and summers.
